About the Williams Studio

Ken moved to Pueblo, Colorado after graduating from high school in Pennsylvania. He moved to Pueblo to attend Southern Colorado State College after spending his summers working on his uncle's farm in Limon, Colorado. In 1969 Ken received a degree in Fine Arts emphasizing ceramics and sculpture. Judith, a native Nebraskan, moved to Pueblo to attend SCSC, and graduated in 1968 with a degree in Fine Arts emphasizing painting.

After marrying and finishing college they pursued a career as ceramic artists. Ken was the Artist in Residence at Sangre de Cristo Arts Center in Pueblo from 1972-1982. While there, one of his roles was teaching ceramic classes. Then they established a studio at Summit Brick, in what was rapidly becoming their home town, Pueblo. This access led to many commissions utilizing sculptured brick.

Williams Studios has received commissions for Public Art locally, nationally, and internationally. They have receive Colorado Governors Award for Excellence in the Arts, were featured artists on Modern Masters, Home and Garden Television and several other awards for their contribution to the arts. They have also been featured in magazines and books.

Ken & Judith have four daughters, Audrey, Gwyn, Alison, and Brooke. All contribute to the business one way or another. Working in the same studio space, either on individual works or collaborating, has increased the creative potential and range of expression.
